Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun has been closely linked with a move to the Premier League over recent week.

Crystal Palace were just a week away from signing the Turkish international striker.

Newcastle meanwhile have also been linked and Tottenham have emerged as the latest club to scout the forward.

Tosun responded to Eren Sarigul of Turkish-Football asking him about the interest being shown from Spurs, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.

“All I am focused on right now is Besiktas — we are doing well in the Champions League and league,” Tosun told Sarigul who was writing for ESPN.

“I am really happy at Besiktas but like Arda Turan and Nuri Sahin I want to be an ambassador for Turkey abroad. I am keen on playing in England.

“I am really pleased with the interest being shown from the Premier League sides mentioned. It really is an honour and we will discuss my future with the club president at the end of the season.”

Besiktas are demanding £17.5 million for their star man who still has another two-years remaining on his contract.

The Black Eagles were willing to accept considerably less before the transfer window when Palace made him an offer.

“Crystal Palace offered €13.5m on transfer deadline day,” Tosun said. “Had they made the bid a week earlier I would be playing in the Premier League right now. I would only leave Besiktas if I made my club money and if the circumstances are right.”

Tosun has four goals in six games for Besiktas in all competitions with his latest Champions League strike being chosen as the goal of the week.
