Arsenal reveal squad to face West Ham, Wenger suffers double injury blow but Ozil fit to play

Arsenal take on West Ham in the London derby at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday.

The Gunners will be hoping to get back to winning ways following their draw against Southampton last weekend.

Head coach Arsene Wenger will be without star defender Shkodran Mustafi as well as midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Mustafi missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Southampton due to a thigh problem, meanwhile Ramsey is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Santi Cazorla is a long-term absentee but other than that Wenger has a full strength squad to call upon.

Wenger said: “Mustafi will not be back. He may be fit to face Newcastle on Saturday.

“We lost Ramsey against Southampton, everybody else should be available.”

“It will be a short period, not a big one,” he said – although this Saturday’s home clash against Newcastle at the Emirates could come too soon.”

The AOL – Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette – could start against the Hammers.

Ozil is available and is expected to get the nod against West Ham.

The playmaker of Turkish origin has two goals and five assists in all competitions for the North London based outfit this season.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Mertesacker, Holding, Koscielny, Chambers, Monreal, Debuchy, Bellerin, Nelson, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Wilshere, Xhaka, Elneny, Ozil, Iwobi, Walcott, Sanchez, Welbeck, Giroud.
