Manchester City defender Jason Denayer has a £30 million release clause according to Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek.

“Denayer is one of the highest value players in Turkey and has a £30 million release clause,” Özbek said speaking on the ‘Sportürk’ program on Habertürk.

The 20-year-old joined Galatasaray on a one-year loan from City over the summer transfer window.

The on-loan centre-back has yet to make his debut for the Istanbul giants but could be brought in to provide defensive cover against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League group stages today.

The Belgium international scored six goals and setup two assists in 44 appearances for Celtic in all competitions last season.

French giants Marseille were also interested in the Belgium international but the lure of Champions League football at Galatasaray helped the Lions seal the deal.

The 20-year-old who was voted Scotland’s Young Player of the Year last season, turned down ‘a number of offers’ in favour of Galatasaray according to SkySports.
