Man United transfer news: £27m star strikes four-year deal in principle with Galatasaray

£27m Man United star strikes four-year deal with Turkish giants

Galatasaray sporting director Cenk Ergun confirmed making a move for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini yesterday.

Ergun revealed that talks with Fellaini are ongoing.

“There will be surprises, we are in talks with Fellaini,” Ergun was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football after the Lions training session in Austria today.

“We have made an approach, we are close and if we get Fellaini we will end our pursuit of N’Diaye.

“We need a player like Fellaini who can shuttle around in midfield.”

A source close to Galatasaray has revealed to Turkish-Football that Fellaini has reached an agreement-in-principle.

The Belgium international will join on a four-year deal if United and Galatasaray can strike a deal.

Fellaini would be the highest paid member of the Galatasaray squad if the deal goes ahead.

United are open to Fellaini leaving for the right price and despite Jose Mourinho being fond of the midfielder he has not been offered a contract extension.

The 29-year-old has under 12 months on his contract, United could end up losing Fellaini who they paid £27 million [BBC] for in 2014 on a free transfer in six months time.

The Istanbul giants are hoping for the transfer to be completed by Tuesday if all goes to plan.
