Liverpool stunned Borussia Dortmund coming back from two goals down to beat the Bundesliga outfit 4-3 at Anfield.

Emre Can returned to central midfield after missing the weekend Premier League game due to suspension.

Here are three things we learned following his performance.

1. Future Captain?

Liverpool looked down and out at half time. Dortmund were leading by two goals meaning the Reds had to pull off something of a miracle to stand any chance of booking a place in the next round. The comeback was kick started by Can who tore down the middle before delivering a well timed pass to Origi for the opening goal. The 22-year-old midfielder put on a stellar performance in central midfield contributing both defensively and in the final third. Can rallied his teammates and the fans just at the right moment showing impressive leadership credentials.

2. Best tackler in Europa League

The 22-year-old won an impressive five tackles against Dortmund – the highest figure in the game. Can has now won 27 tackles in the Europa League which is more than any other player in the tournament.

3. Passion

Can was unable to play all 90 minutes due to picking up an injury late in the second half but he managed to celebrate the winning goal with James Milner and the fan despite having a bandaged foot. This picture went viral after the game and pretty much sums up his passion. They say a picture can tell a thousand words…
