AC MIlan join the race for Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan

Ac Milan have joined the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundgoan according to the Italian sports website Calcio Mercato.

The Serie A giants are aiming to bring Carlo Ancelotti in as manager along with a strong squad to challenge for the title next year.

Calcio Mercato states that Gundogan is one of  a number of high profile targets the Rossoneri are keeping tabs on.

However, Milan will have to battle it out with Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich, all of which have been linked with the 24-year-old.

Milan go into their last game of the season in tenth place and can move up one spot if the record a victory over Atalanta this weekend.

Gündoğan has five assists and three goals in 32 appearances for Dortmund despite spending much of the season out injured.
