Agent hints £23m Chelsea target could leave Barcelona

Barcelona v Sporting

Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan has been linked with a move away from the club for the past few weeks.

Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut once again denied rumours that the Turkish international midfielder is on his way out after denying claims that AC Milan had entered the race.

Bulut did however, hint for the first time that leaving Barcelona could be a possibility.

The agent told Calcio Mercato: “I know nothing of Milan’s interest in Arda. At the moment I can only say that he wants to remain with Barcelona. I don’t know, however, what could happen during the transfer window.”

The latest development comes just a day after Mundo Deportivo reported Barcelona will listen to offers for Turan that match their valuation of the player.

The Sun only recently claims that that Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal are also in a race to sign the 29-year-old and that Barcelona would be willing to accept a cut-price £23 million deal.

Bulut denied all reports claiming that Turan is close to a move last week and the experienced midfielder does have another four-years remaining on his current deal.

Speaking to Emre Sarigul of Turkish-football.com [via the Guardian], Bulut said: “The interest [in Arda] is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club.”

Turan joined Barcelona from Atleti last season on a £29 million move and made 25 appearances for the La Liga champions last season despite missing the first half of the season due to a FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club.
