Aitor Karanka takes Mesut Ozil’s shirt for his son [divider]

Arsenal beat Middlesbrough 2-0 in the FA Cup 5th round at the Emirates stadium to progress to quarter finals.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka revealed that he took Mesut Özil’s shirt after the game for his son.

“I took the shirt for my son,” Karanka told BT Sport.

Karanka used to coach Özil when he was Jose Mourinho’s assistant manager at Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old had 81 assists in all competitions for the Spanish giants. In total Özil has 157 assists, 69 goals in 399 games.

Özil won the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey while at Real Madrid.

The World Cup winner also lifted the FA Cup with the Gunners following his record breaking £42.5 million move to Arsenal.

Özil completed 97 passes at a 92.5 percent accuracy and was given a rating of 8.50 by Whoscored.

The 26-year-old has now scored three times and created two assists in his last five games in all competitions for Arsenal.
