Arda Turan expressed his joy at Barcelona’s UEFA Super Cup win via a post on Instagram.
Sevilla opened the scoring in the third minute via a perfectly placed free-kick from Ever Benega. Leo Messi hit back in quick succession to give his side the league and Alcantara netted giving Barcelona a 3-1 lead going into the break.
Barcelona looked to be on course for an easy win after Suarez found the back of the net in the 52nd minute however, Sevilla mounted a spirited comeback with goals from Reyes, Gameiro and new transfer Konoplyanka.
Pedro scored the games winning goal in extra time winning Barcelona their fifth Super Cup.
Arda Turan posted a picture of his side celebrating along with the caption, “Vamos campeones !! Visca el Barça!”
Summer signing Turan was included in the 24 man squad but was unable to play due to the FIFA transfer ban restricting Barcelona from registering new signings until the turn of the year.
The Turkish international watched from the sidelines as his side won the trophy despite not setting foot on the field himself however, did not miss the chance to pose with the team during the trophy ceremony.
