The Turkish international was taken to the Fremap hospital during training after suffering a muscle injury according to Spanish newspaper AS.

The 28-year-old was accompanied by Atleti team doctor Dr. Villalon.

Turan was expected to miss the La Liga game against Eibar on the weekend but could now feature for Atleti.

The Turkish international has three goals and six assists in all competitions for Rojiblancos this season.

Turan was involved in a controversial shoe throwing incident during the Copa del Rey game against Barcelona on Wednesday.

The Atleti star responded to his boot coming off in a challenge by throwing it at the assistant referee. The boot narrowly missed the official’s head and resulted in the Turkish international being shown a yellow card.

Turan will escape any further punishment from the Spanish RFEF Competition Committee.
