Arda Turan misses Barcelona training ahead of Copa del Rey final

Barcelona team news

Arda Turan has missed training ahead of Barcelona’s Copa del Rey final clash against Sevilla on Sunday.

The Turkish international was granted special permission to miss a training session on Tuesday.

“Barca manager Luis Enrique kept a watchful eye on the field, where all available first-team players worked out, plus the reserve player Juan Cámara,” Barcelona announced on the club’s website.

“Midfielder Arda Turan was granted permission to miss the session for personal reasons,.”

Turan joined Barcelona over the summer but had to wait six-months on the sidelines due to the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club.

The Turkish international became the first Turkish international to win the La Liga for a second time when Barcelona lifted the title over the weekend.

Turan was also the first Turkish international to win the La Liga when he lifted the title with Atletico Madrid.

The 29-year-old is expected to play a key role in Turkey’s Euro 2016 campaign and is likely to be captain.
