Arda Turan made his official debut for Barcelona in the 4-1 victory against rivals Espanyol at the Nou Camp in the Spanish Cup Last 16 first-leg.
Barcelona boss Luis Enrique revealed that he was pleased with the performance of the bearded winger as well as Aleix Vidal who also made his debut.
Enrique revealed that Turan – who he gave a spot in the starting lineup yesterday – offers Barcelona more options.
“I liked both of them,” Enrique told reporters after the game.
“Arda provides solutions when we have the ball.”
Turan started on the right side of midfield alongside Sergio Busquets in the middle and Iniesta on the left.
The Turkish international played for 68 minutes before being replaced by the in-form Rakitic who has started for most of the season in the role Turan played yesterday.
Turan had to wait six months to make his debut after the club finally finished serving their FIFA transfer ban in January.
The club were able to register Turan on Monday 4 January 2016 despite the fact he joined the club last summer from Atletico Madrid.
