The Turkish international missed Atleti’s 2-0 win over Eibar but is expected to be ready for the Madrid derby against cross city rivals Real on the weekend.

The Turkish international has three goals and six assists in all competitions for Rojiblancos this season.

The 28-year-old was involved in a controversial shoe throwing incident during the Copa del Rey game against Barcelona last week.

The Atleti star responded to his boot coming off in a challenge by throwing it at the assistant referee.

The boot narrowly missed the official’s head but Turan only received a yellow card.

The Madrid will be played at the Vicente Calderon stadium on Saturday.

Atleti are currently in third place on 47 points, a win against Real would take the Rojiblancos just one point behind the league leaders.
