Arda Turan thanks Barcelona fans after scoring first goal

Barcelona v PSG

Arda Turan has taken to social media following his first goal in a Barcelona jersey.

The Turkish international thanked fans for their supportive messages and vowed to continue doing his best.

“Thank you for the nice messages. First goal of my @FCBarcelona career. Will continue to do my best.” Turan tweeted.

Turan came on after 66 minutes in place of the Croatian international Ivan Rakitic.

The 29-year-old momentarily looked to have received a red card before the referee realised his mistake and switched the red card for the yellow card.

Turan’s goal came in the 86th minute when he headed in a cross from Jeremy Mathieu.

Barcelona have gone 35 games without a defeat which is a club record and matching the overall Spanish record set by Leo Beenhakker during his time in command of Real Madrid back in the 1988-89 season.

Turan has three assist and one goal in 13 appearances for Barcelona this season.
