Arda Turan training 3 times a day for Barcelona debut on 6 January

Barcelona team news

Arda Turan has had a long wait to make his Barcelona debut in fact he has not played since signing for the reigning La Liga champions but all that is set to change on January 6.

Turan is set to make his official debut for Barcelona against cross-city rivals Espanyol in the Spanish Cup derby game next week.

The bearded winger revealed that he is looking forward to finally making his first appearance for the club and that he has been training three times a day in preparation.

“My legs are shaking with excitement I am training three times a day every day I am so pumped up it is going to be a great honour to finally play for this great club,” Turan told Fanatik.

Barcelona signed Turan from Atletico Madrid over the summer on a five-year deal but were unable to register him due to the FIFA transfer ban currently in place.

The ban will be lifted when the January transfer window opens which will permit the club to register new players.

Turan has yet to play a single club game this season but has featured regularly for the Turkish national team over recent weeks.
