Arsenal accept loan offer for defender from European giants

Arsenal have accepted a loan bid from Galatasaray for Mathieu Debuchy according to Turkish football journalist Gökmen Özdemir with close links to the club.

Özdemir shared a tweet claiming that the Gunners have accepted a loan bid from the Istanbul giants and all that remains is for the club to agree personal terms with the French defender.

The Lions are keen on adding defensive cover over the summer and it would not be the first time they have signed an Arsenal full-back.

The Istanbul giants did sign Emmanuel Eboue from the North London based outfit a few seasons ago.

Debuchy spent the second half of last season on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux but only made nine appearances due to injury.

The French side are also reported to be be in the race to sign the experienced full-back according to Sky Sports.

The 31-year-old still has another three-years remaining on his Arsenal contract but has made just 12 appearances for the club since joining in July 2014.
