Arsenal ace dropped from Australia pre-season squad as Fenerbahce step up efforts to complete transfer

Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has been closely linked with a summer exit this window.

Reports that the Spanish striker could be on the move intensified after he was left out of the pre-season Australia squad.

Perez looks likely to leave and was rumoured to be on his former club Deportivo’s radar.

President of the La Liga outfit Tino Fernandez downplayed speculation and stated that “the possibilities are remote” according to the Evening Standard.

With a Deportivo move looking unlikely, beIN Sport Turkey report that Fenerbahce have stepped up efforts to sign the 28-year-old.

The Yellow Canaries are expected to hold talks with Perez’s agent this week.

Fenerbahce are happy to loan Perez for a season.

The Istanbul giants are not keen on signing the striker on a permanent deal due to pressure from Financial Fair Play (FFP) to stay within budget.

Perez was signed for a £17m (Transfermarkt) transfer fee from Deportivo La Coruna last summer but struggled for playing time last season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger did not really give the forward a chance.

Perez netted seven times and provided five assists in just 21 games in all competitions last season.
