Arsenal will attempt to stop Mesut Ozil’s wish of joining Manchester United

Arsenal are concerned by the prospect of Mesut Ozil joining rivals Manchester United next summer.

The Germany international has under nine months remaining on his contract with the Gunners and appears to be no close to penning a new deal.

The Mirror have reported that Ozil is keen on a move to Manchester United and has even told his teammates that he is confident of the move.

However, the Metro have claimed that Arsenal will try to stop Ozil joining United.

Per the source, the north London-based club are preparing to lower their asking price in a bid to sell the 29-year-old in January.

Ozil can however decide to let his contract wind down and leave the club at the end of the season.

Arsenal take on Everton this weekend as they look to bounce back from last week’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Watford FC.

Ozil is fit to start after returning to first-team training this week.
