Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was spotted consoling Mesut Ozil following Germany’s Euro 2016 defeat.

Joachim Low’s side were eliminated by the hosts France following a brace from the Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann. France recorded a 2-0 victory and will play Portugal in the final.

Ozil was greeted by Wenger and the former Arsenal player Robert Pires after the game. Thee trio were pictured laughing and joking in the aftermath of the defeat.

Germany dominated possession against the host’s yesterday but were unable to find a breakthrough. Ozil’s Arsenal teammates Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud started for France.

Ozil was one of the star’s of the show during Germany’s win over Italy, the 27-year-old scored his sides only goal but missed his penalty during the shootout. The 27-year-old will join Arsenal’s pre-season camp later this month following a short break.
