Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reveals his Euro 2016 dark horses

3 Turkish players Wenger should consider as part of £100m Arsenal overhaul

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Turkey are his dark horses are for Euro 2016.

Wenger was quoted by the Fanatik as saying: “Turkey could spring a surprise, they struggled to get here but have looked strong lately.”

The Turkish national team did indeed struggle to get through the qualifying stage and had to win their last three games in Group A against the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Iceland to book a place in France this summer.

Turkey qualified against the odds knocking out the Netherlands in the process but have lost just one of their last 15 games and go into the tournament in high spirits.

The Crescent-Stars have also reached the semi-finals of the last two major tournaments they have been part of.

Turkey will face the Czech Republic, Croatia and Spain in the group stages of Euro 2016. They did of course face the Czech’s and Croatia in Euro 2008 as well coming from behind in both games to win.
