Arsenal boss reveals injury update regarding Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil returns to weight training
Arsenal contract rebel Alexis Sanchez will miss the Gunners clash with Stoke City this weekend.
The Potters host Arsenal at the Britannia stadium on Saturday, kick-off is at 17:45 (GMT).
Stoke suffered a 1-0 defeat in their opening game of the season at the hands of Everton. Arsenal meanwhile recorded a 4-3 victory over Leicester City.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be unable to call upon the Chile international Alexis Sanchez. The former Barcelona forward missed last weekend’s game due to an abdominal strain.
Mesut Ozil meanwhile has been spotted in the gym doing weight training alongside Mustafi. The 28-year-old played a starring role during last weekend’s victory. Ozil’s contract with Arsenal also expires at the end of the season.
Wenger confirmed that Sanchez will not recover in time and will not be included in the squad which will face Stoke City.
“For Sanchez it looks a little early but he works hard in training,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the Express.
Sanchez has under 12 months remaining on his contract with Arsenal and hasn’t featured since the Gunners FA Cup win last season. Wenger went onto state that “no progress” had been made regarding contract talks with Sanchez.
