Arsenal boss Wenger facing potential injury crisis ahead of Chelsea clash – star duo carrying knocks

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could be facing a potential injury crisis ahead of this weekend’s encounter with Chelsea.

The experienced manager has revealed that both Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are carrying knocks coming into the game.

Ozil and Ramsey – along with five more first team players – were rested for the Gunners Europa League encounter with FC Koln on Thursday night.

However, Wenger has revealed that Ozil and Ramsey have also been rested due to injuries. The French tactician does however believe the duo will be fit for tomorrow’s fixtures against Chelsea.

Wenger is unsure if the Alexis Sanchez will start at Chelsea despite being confident that three days is sufficient for the players to recover.

“We have to see about Ozil and Ramsey. I think they should be alright. All the others could have played against Cologne,” Wenger told reporters at the pre-game press conference.

“I have to see how he [Sanchez] recovers from [facing Cologne] and decide afterwards with all the players available. But he will be of course with us at Chelsea,” Wenger added about Sanchez.”

The Blues host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge tomorrow, kick-off is scheduled for 13:30 (GMT).

Chelsea come into Sunday afternoon’s game following three back-to-back victories. Arsenal came from behind on Thursday to record a 3-1 win over FC Koln in the Europa League.
