Arsenal boss Wenger says 'it is a pleasure' to watch intelligence of Ozil

Arsenal transfer news: Mesut Ozil Amine Gulse

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was delighted with his sides performance following the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the London derby today.

Wenger also singled out Mesut Ozil and praised the World Cup winner for a superb performance.

“He had a very good performance. He was important getting out from the back, getting out of tight areas. It is a pleasure to watch the quality of his passing and the intelligence of his passing,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the official Arsenal website.

Wenger has also tipped Ozil as an early candidate for player of the year this season.

Ozil provided the assist for Olivier Giroud’s opening goal against Palace and made the most key passes in the Premier League today according to Whoscored.com.

The Arsenal star made a total of five key passes at Selhurst Park earlier today against Palace. Ozil also made 55 passes throughout the game maintaining a passing accuracy of 98%.

The North London based side face a tough test next week as they welcome Liverpool to the Emirates.

Arsenal moved into 11th place on three points after two games following the win over Palace.
