Arsenal star Mesut Özil has warned Bayern Munich that his side have what it takes to topple the Bundesliga giants.
Özil is no stranger to Bayern having started his professional career in Germany and has already played against Bayern several times over the years.
Arsenal are currently last in the UEFA Champions League group after shock defeats against both Olmypiakos and Dynamo Zagreb. The Gunners are however, in high spirits after beating Manchester United 3-0 in the Premier League and moving into second place just two points behind Manchester City.
“I didn’t expect them to beat Dortmund 5-1. Their recent results show they are simply in great shape. But our victory against Manchester United was a sign: when we play and want it 100%, then we can beat Bayern,” Özil told Bild.
Özil is coming off the back of a tremendous performance against United where he scored his first goal of the season and provided an assist.
Bayern are of course first in the Champions League group and are top of the Bundesliga table after winning all eight games played this season. The German giants have scored a staggering 28 goals while conceding just four.
