Arsenal dealt transfer blow as former player Oguzhan Ozyakup nears new contract
Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Besiktas playmaker Oguzhan Ozyakup.
Besiktas president Fikret Orman has stated that Ozyakup is set to put pen-to-paper on a new deal at his current club.
The young playmaker has been linked with a move back to the Emirates, according to Fanatik.
Per the source, Besiktas are keen to extend Ozyakup’s contract due to interest from his former club.

“There are many stories about Oguzhan’s possible transfer to Europe. But we did not receive such an offer,” Besiktas president Fikret Orman told the Turkish outlet Mackolik Radyo.
“Oguzhan’s contract will be extended. We only need to add the signatures. It will be for another five years.”
The report goes onto state that Sevilla, Roma and Napoli are also interested in the Turkey international
The 24-year-old was part of the Arsenal class of 92 which also featured Jack Wilshere. Ozyakup left Arsenal back in 2012 after failing to break into the first team.
Ozyakup has impressed since making the move to Istanbul. The former Arsenal star has racked up 26 goals and 39 assists in 178 appearances for the Black Eagles since joining.
Besiktas currently sit at the top of the Turkish league with four games remaining.
