Arsenal fail to profit from Mesut Ozil's creativity against Sunderland

Mesut Ozil

Arsenal once again failed to capitilise on chances created by Mesut Ozil as they slip behind Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Gunners payed out a 0-0 draw with Sunderland earlier today leaving them level on points with the City Blues.

Mesut Ozil received a rating of 6.9 for his performance on the day from WhoScored. While the Germany international wasn’t at his best, he took 75 touches on the ball, took a shot on target and made the highest amount of key passes (5).

Arsenal’s failure to convert chances made by Ozil has been a running theme this season.

Ozil has been in exceptional for this season and has provided the highest number of assists in the league this season (18).

The 27-year-old playmaker could have more assists to his name had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates.  Ozil has created the most chances in the league (122) but the Gunners have the lowest goal record in the top four.
