Arsenal fans hail Mesut Ozil for ‘contract assist’ attempt on Alexis Sanchez
Arsenal fans have take to social media to heap praise on Mesut Ozil for attempting to convince Alexis Sanchez to stay.
Both Ozil and Sanchez have under 12 months remaining on their contracts with Arsenal.
Ozil has recently stated that he is happy at the Emirates and is expected to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
Sanchez however, has stated that he wants to play UEFA Champions League football. The Gunners missed out on the UCL after finishing the league last season in fifth place.
Ozil took to Twitter to send Sanchez a photo of some cute Golden retrievers. It seems Arsenal fans interpreted the tweet as an attempt to convince Sanchez to remain at the club.

Ozil played 45 minutes of football against Bayern Munich earlier this week. The Germany international is expected to play when Arsenal face their London rivals Chelsea in Beijing this weekend.
Sanchez is currently on an extended summer break after representing Chile at the Confederations Cup/
