Meust Ozil played the full 90 minutes during Arsenal’s disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Watford FC in the FA Cup yesterday afternoon.
The 27-year-old was Arsenal’s highest rated player according to WhoScored who scored him a 8.3.
The defeat was Ozil’s first in the FA Cup since he joined the Gunners on a record £42.5 million move from Real Madrid back in 2013
The visitors started the game brightly and were 1-0 ahead on 50 minutes when Ighalo found the back of the net. Watford doubled their lead when Guedioura blazed the ball into the top corner.
Arsenal improved late on and Mesut Ozil set Danny Welbeck up with a cheeky back-heel to half Watford’s lead.
We took a look at what kind of reaction Ozil’s performance got from Arsenal fans on social media. The Germany international was widely praised despite his sides defeat.

Mesut Ozil is wasted at the best of times at this club. Incredibly frustrating.
