“Arsenal have a couple of defensive worries” – Ex Rep of Ireland star predicts Arsenal v Watford clash

BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson has revealed his prediction for Arsenal’s clash with Watford FC this weekend.

The Gunners face their London rivals at Vicarage Road stadium on Saturday, kick-off is scheduled for 17:30.

Lawro believes Arsenal have been in impressive form of late and expects Arsene Wenger’s side to continue their winning run. The former Liverpool star also pointed out Watford’s disappointing home record this season and predicts a 2-0 win for the Gunners.

Arsenal came into Saturday evening’s clash with six wins in their last seven games. The north London-based club defeated Brighton by a 2-0 scoreline in their last game.

Arsenal have a couple of defensive worries, with Laurent Koscielny facing a fitness test before this game and Shkodran Mustafi definitely out for a few weeks,” Mark Lawrenson told the BBC.

But the Gunners have built a bit of momentum since their heavy defeat by Liverpool at the end of August, and I am expecting them to carry that form on here.

Arsene Wenger’s side have won six out of seven games in all competitions since the beginning of September, and the only points they dropped came against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Along with Burnley, Watford have been one of the surprise packages of the season so far, but they are actually yet to win at home under Marco Silva and I don’t see that changing on Saturday.

Watford suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City a fortnight ago and are yet to win a game at Vicarage Road this season.

Arsene Wenger is facing several injury problems coming into the game. Shkodran Mustafi has been ruled out while Laurent Koscielny is also a doubt due to a persistent ankle problem.
