Sport Bild go on to claim that Manchester City are also holding talks with the 24-year-old midfielder.

Premier League rivals Manchester United are another club in the race to sign Gündoğan in an attempt to replace the aging Michael Carrick according to the Daily Mail.

Dortmund have been reluctant to let go of their star man whose contract comes to an end in 2016 and offered a contract extension until 2019 worth €6.5 million per-season.

The Dortmund star has however, been reluctant to strike a deal with his current club.

The Germany international of Turkish origin missed a large part of the season due to injury but has since recovered and returned to the starting lineup.

The 24-year-old has a total of three goals and four assists in 27 appearances for Dortmund this season.
