Arsenal join Dortmund in race for star midfielder

Barcelona v PSG

Arsenal have joined Borussia Dortmund in the race for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan according to the Daily Star.

The report claims that Barcelona have transfer listed Turan and that he has a number of suitors across Europe including the Gunners and the Bundesliga giants.

Sport claim that Barcelona want at least £29 million for Turan who they signed from Atletico Madrid on a five-year deal last summer.

Dortmund are in pursuit of a replacement for Mkhtarian while Arsenal have been linked with Turan since last summer.

The Daily Star reported that Manchester United and the Gunners were reported to be monitoring Turan’s situation back in May.

United have however, pulled out of the race following the singing of Mkhtarian from Dortmund.

The 29-year-old midfielder wrapped up the season with having found the back of the net twice and and three assists in 810 minutes of La Liga football.

Turan was however, given just 46 minutes of playing time by Barcelona manager Luis Enrique in his last four league matches .

The bearded winger made just nine starts for Barcelona but he still managed to achieve the highest pass accuracy in the team at 92 percent.
