Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere set to lose No.10 shirt to Germany international

Arsenal team news

Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere could be on the verge of losing his No.10 shirt at the north London based club if reports are to be believed.

The German paper Bild (via Express) have stated that Ozil is close to signing a new contract with Arsenal and that he could inherit the 10 shirt number.

Ozil previously talked about the importance of the No.10 kit. “For me, the number means a lot, it’s my favourite number,” the 27-year-old was quoted as saying by the Express.

Wilshere – who currently occupies the N0.10 shirt – is on a season-long loan at Bournemouth.

Ozil has worn the No.11 shirt since moving to Arsenal from Real Madrid for a club record fee.

The Germany international is expected to start for Arsenal tonight when they face FC Basel in the UEFA Champions League.

Ozil has scored two goals in the Premier League this season but is yet to register an assist, despite racking up an impressive 19 last term.
