Arsenal manager Wenger praises Ozil’s performance

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that Mesut Özil is close to his best and praised his performance against Aston Villa.
Özil received a rating of 9.48 from whoscored.com for his performance on the weekend. The World Cup Winner made 53 passes two of which were key passes.
Wenger spoke to SkySports after the game to talk about his sides performance.
“You cannot fault anybody’s performance, and Mesut did well,” said the Arsenal manager.
“He got back to competition and it takes you a while to get back to that sharpness and that competitive edge, but he is getting there.”

Arsenal went on to win the game 5-0 with Theo Walcott, Santi Carzola and Bellerin completing the scoring for the home sime.
The Gunners have moved up to 5th place following today’s victory and will begin preparations for the North London derby against Tottenham next weekend.
Özil now has three assists and three goal in 12 appearances for the Gunners this season.
