The Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been priced out of a move for Ilkay Gündoğan according to the German tabloid Bild.

The report goes onto state that Bayern were ready to match Dortmund’s €20 million valuation for the player but have been put off by the 24-year-old’s ‘greedy’ contract demands.

The developments put Manchester Untied back into pole position to sign the Germany international.

The Red Devil’s have been closely linked with Gündoğan over the past month but are expected to face stiff competition from Arsenal for the 24-year-old’s signature.

Barça Blaugranes recently stated that Barcelona are also in talks with the Dortmund star but there is still disagreement over the transfer fee.

Gündoğan has four assists and three goals in 31 appearances for Dortmund this season.
