Arsenal star Mesut Ozil and Manchester City summer signing Ilkay Gundogan were involved in a social media gaffe last night ahead of the Gunners pre-season friendly against Mexican giants Chivas yesterday.
Gundogan posted a tweet saying he had joined his Arsenal teammates ahead of their clash with Chivas.
The picture attached to the tweet was of Ozil alongside his teammates. Gundogan quickly deleted the message but it was too late as the gaffe had already been shared across the social media platform.
Either Ozil and Gundogan are the same person able to shape shift and play for two separate teams at the same time or the more likely explanation is both their social media accounts being run by the same person.
Ozil and Gundogan do actually share quite a lot in common. Both were born in Germany are are members of the Turkish community in the country which has an estimated population of 3-4 million.
Both players have yet to feature for their respective club over the pre-season. Gundogan has been injured while Ozil has been on extended leave following his role in the Germany national side over Euro 2016.
