Arsenal news: Transfer boost as £21m Barcelona target would prefer Premier League move over Turkey and Italy

Arsenal have received a boost in their pursuit of Barcelona star midfielder Arda Turan.

The 30-year-old’s Barcelona’s future has been cast in doubt following an inconsistent season. Turan has found himself on the fridges of Barcelona’s squad and has been frequently linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.

According to the Turkish outlet Fanatik, Turan would favour a move to the English Premier League over the Italian Serie A or a return to Turkey.

The same newspaper previously revealed that Inter Milan are interested in signing the Turkey international. Meanwhile Galatasaray are also attempting to re-sign their former captain this summer.

Turkish-Football previously reported that Turan has purchased a house in London.

Turan has three-years remaining on his current contract with Barcelona. The Spanish outlet Marca have reported that the Catalan giants are prepared to sell the Turkish international over the transfer window as part of a squad overhaul.

Mundo Deportivo meanwhile have revealed that Barcelona would be prepared to sell Turan for £21 million.

The former Atletico Madrid star has provided seven assists and scored 13 goals in 30 appearances for Barcelona this season.
