Mesut Ozil has been included in the Daily Mail‘s team of the week despite Arsenal’s defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday.

The 27-year-old provided the assist for Danny Welbeck’s opener and scored his sides second goal.

“The German international attacking midfielder was on the receiving end of defeat at Old Trafford but an assist and a goal meant he certainly didn’t deserve to be,” the Daily Mail stated.

Manchester United’s young star who lead his side to victory over the Gunners Marcus Rashford was also included in the weeks best eleven.

Ozil create a grand total of six goal scoring opportunities more than any other player over the course of the 90 minutes but only one was converted.

The former Real Madrid now created 111 chances in the Premier League this season – the highest in the league – however, the Gunners have scored the fewest goals in the top-four (43).

Ozil has provided 18 assists in the Premier League this season and is just two assists away from matching the league record of 20 set by Thierry Henry.
