Arsenal receive transfer boost after Man United star rejects contract, Turkish champions in talks

Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini hit the headlines yesterday after rejecting a contract extension deal.

The Express claim that Fellaini turned down a new deal from the Red Devils and will run his contract down.

Per the source, Fellaini was offered a two-year deal with Jose Mourinho making it clear he would remain an important member of the squad.

The Belgium international is however, reported to be interested in moving on.

The Red Devils do not want to sell him in January but unless his contract situation is sorted he will leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

Arsenal are reported to be the latest side to express an interest in the 29-year-old.

The Gunners reportedly want Fellaini on a free transfer at the end of the summer.

The North London based outfit could face competition from Besiktas.

Turkish-Football recently reported that the Black Eagles have been in talks with Fellaini’s representatives.

The reigning Super Lig champions would be able to sign a pre-contract in January – the option is only open for overseas clubs.

Fellaini was signed from Everton on a £27 million move under the stewardship of David Moyes in 2013.

The powerful midfielder took a while to win over the United faithful but he has established himself as an important member of Mourinho’s side this season.

Despite Mourinho being keen on Fellaini he has only made three starts this season.
