Arsenal receive transfer boost as Turkish giants unable to match Barcelona’s £26.5m asking price

Besiktas have pulled out of the race to sign Barcelona star Arda Turan.

The Black Eagles had been linked with a £26.5 million move for Turan according to Marca.

A source close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football that they are not pursuing the transfer of Turan.

The Istanbul giants would simply not be able to afford the fee Barcelona are demanding.

A loan deal is an option Besiktas would consider but Barcelona are keen on selling Turan and recouping some of the £32.5 million transfer fee paid for him in 2015.

Turan has also been linked with a move to China but his agent Ahmet Bulut has told us repeatedly that they are not keen on a move to the far-east or back to Turkey.

Arsenal remain one of the few interested clubs in a financial position and with the drawing power to attract the 30-year-old.

Mundo Deportivo report that the Gunners are among the clubs interested but want to negotiate a better deal than the £26.5 million [€30m] being requested by Barca.
