Arsenal set to miss out on Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan as Turkish giants swoop in

Arsenal are set to miss out on Barcelona midfielder and former Turkey international Arda Turan.

The 30-year-old has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since his move to Barce from Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal have recently been linked with a move for Turan by the Spanish outlet Marca. The report states that the Gunners set aside €30 million for Turan.

However, the flamboyant midfielder could be on his way back home. A source close to Galatasaray has revealed to Turkish-Football.com that Galatasaray want to sign Turan on a 12-month loan deal.

The Galatasaray hierarchy are desperate to land a marquee signing this summer following the disappointing early exit from the Europa League.

Both the Galatasaray board and manager Igor Tudor have found themselves under intense pressure in recent weeks.

Per the source, the Lions have set aside a £70,000 per week deal for their former captain.

Turan was formally a ball-boy at Galatasaray before coming through the ranks to captain the side. The former Turkey international earned himself a move to Atletico Madrid in 2011.
