Arsenal signed Ozil & Sanchez at the right age says Arsene Wenger

3 Turkish players Wenger should consider as part of £100m Arsenal overhaul

Arsenal signed Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez at the right age according to manager Arsene Wenger.

The Arsenal boss stated that it is important to be able to strike a balance between young players and already established players.

“You want to do both,” Wenger told the official Arsenal website.

“Yes of course it is possible. We signed players like Sanchez and Ozil, 25 and 26, and that is a good age to perform now.

“We have as well players like Bellerin and Chambers who are 20. So we have both. The financial potential should allow you to combine both.”

Özil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for £42.5 million on a club record transfer fee in 2013 aged 24.

Sanchez joined the Gunners from Barcelona on a £37 million move aged 25.

Özil and Sanchez have been two of the best performing Arsenal players this season. The Chilean international has 20 goals and 11 assists in all competitions while Özil has five goals and seven assists.

Arsenal travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley next in the Premier League, both Sanchez and Özil are expected to start.

The Gunners are currently second in the Premier League, even points behind league leaders Chelsea.
