Arsenal star is 2nd highest followed Premier League player on Twitter with 10 million likes

Mesut Özil had a lot to celebrate over the last week. There was his performance in the 3-0 win against Manchester United in which he scored and provided an assist. There was Germany booking a place in Euro 2016 after topping Group D. Then of course there was the World Cup winner reaching 10 million followers on Twitter.

The social media enthusiast thanked his loyal followers with a tweet marking his special occassion.

Özil obviously enjoys tweeting but who wouldn’t when you make as much per-tweet as he does. The 21-year-old makes £33,120 per-tweet according to the Metro.

The 26-year-old also has millions of Facebook likes and Instagram followers.

The World Cup winner is the fourth highest earning footballer in terms of social media endorsements.

Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest paid footballer per-tweet followed by Barcelona forward Neymar and then Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
