Mesut Özil is enjoying a well earned break ahead of a make-or-break festive period for Arsenal’s title challenge.
The 27-year-old posted a picture of himself relaxing in the sun along with the caption, “M10 #alwaysassisting 🙂 #mesutozil #ozil #özil #mesutözil.”
Özil was in excellent form yet again for Arsenal’s win over Aston Villa and provided his 13th assist in his 15th league game of the season – the highest in Europe’s top five leagues which also includes France, Spain, Germany and Italy.
Sky Sports football pundit Graeme Souness was full of praise for Özil before the game even started and stated that he is the type of player every manager would dream to have on the team.
“When Arsenal are on the front foot and winning games people can turn a blind eye to when he has the ball and loses it and won’t sprint to win it back but I think he is so silky so easy on the eye that you have got to have him on the team,” Souness said speaking ahead of the game.
Özil has won back-to-back FA Cup since joining Arsenal for a club record transfer fee from Real Madrid back in September 2013.
The North London based side take on Manchester City next Monday in a critical league encounter which could see the Gunners go top.
