Arsenal star Mesut Ozil turned 27 today. The World Cup winner had quite a birthday week having played an instrumental role in the 3-0 win over Manchester United and helping Germany reach Euro 2016.
The birthday boy has yet to share any birthday messages on social media but you can be pretty sure he will keep his tens of millions of followers updated.
Ozil was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany into an ethnic Turkish family heralding from the Zonguldak province in north-western Turkey.
Turkish international twins Hamit and Halil Altintop are also from Gelsenkirchen as is fellow Germany international of Turkish origin Ilkay Gundogan.
There are several ethnic Turkish players born in Germany representing both their country of birth and the Crescent-Stars.
Hakan Calhanoglu is a recent example of a player born in Germany representing Turkey at senior international level.
Ozil joined Arsenal on a record breaking £42.5 million move from Real Madrid in 2013 and has already won two FA Cup trophies and the Community Shield trophy.
The 27-year-old has four assists and one goal in all competition for the Gunners this season.
