Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to congratulate Alexis Sanchez upon winning Copa America 2016.
Sanchez lead his side to a win over Argentina on penalties after the game ended 0-0 after 120 minutes.
Ozil uploaded a picture of himself alongside Alexis Sanchez with the caption, “Congrats to my @Arsenal teammate @alexis_officia1 for becoming player of the tournament and #CopaAmerica champion!”
Chile defeated Argentina on penalties in the final to win the competition for a second year in a row. The 27-year-old scored three goals and provided two assists during the competition and was named in the Copa America Best eleven.
“Just thank my team-mates and all the people who supported us… Now Chileans enjoy,” Sanchez told reporters after the game.
Ozil has provided one assist in four games for Germany so far in Euro 2016. The 27-year-old is expected to start for Joachim Low’s side which takes on Italy this week in the Euro 2016 quarter fnals.
