Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is 'undervalued' in Germany says Hamann

The former Germany internation midfielder Dietmar Hamann has stated that Mesut Ozil is ‘undervalued‘ in Germany.

Hamann went onto say that Ozil could be one of Germany’s key players as he has the ability to create something out of nothing.

“I think perhaps he’s also a bit undervalued in Germany, but he will be one of the key players at Euro 2016 because he can make things happen that nobody else can,” Hamann was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

Ozil was also voted Player of the Season for his efforts but his club were unable to lift a trophy. The European Championships remain the only trophy the 27-year-old will be able to lift this season.

The Arsenal playmaker won the World Cup with Germany in Brazil back in 2014.

Ozil has had a terrific season at Arsenal providing the highest number of assists in the Premier League (19).

The Germany international narrowly missed out on breaking the all time record for setting up the most goals in a single Premier League season currently held by Thierry Henry (20).
