Arsenal star named in Opta Euro 2016 team of the tournament

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil may have only made it to the Euro 2016 semi-finals but his performances over the course of the tournament were good enough to earn him a spot in Opta’s team of the tournament.

Ozil was one of two Arsenal players to make the team with the other being Wales star midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The Arsenal playmaker was one of two Germany international players in the side alongside Kroos.

The Germany international of Turkish origin ended the tournament with one goals and one assist and played every minute of every game for his national team.

The team was compiled using an average of the statistical output of each player in the tournament.

Both Arsenal players made it to the semi-final stage of the European Championship missing out on a chance to play in the final after losing their respective penultimate game.

Germany crashed out against hosts France losing 2-0 while Wales were defeated by the same scoreline against eventual champions Portugal.
