Mesut Ozil played a staring role during Germany’s 4-1 victory over Italy yesterday evening.
The 27-year-old was included in the World Cup holders starting line-up and was deployed in his favoured number ten position.
Ozil received a rating of 7.45 from WhoScored for his performance on the night. The former Real Madrid man took 117 touches on the ball, made one key pass and maintained a passing accuracy of 92%.
The playmaker also made one key pass and got himself on the scoresheet when he converted a penalty in the second half.
Germany were in ruthless form and were ahead after 24 minutes via a strike from Tony Kroos. Mario Gotze doubled the German’s lead shortly before half time.
Hector put Germany 3-0 ahead after 59 minutes while Mesut Ozil got on the score sheet in the 75th after converting from the penalty spot.
El Shaarawy scored a consolation goal for the visitors seven minutes from full time.
