Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has revealed that Germany international teammate Mario Gomez is coolest player he has ever seen under pressure.

Gomez and Ozil started in the 3-2 defeat against England last week. The Besiktas striker scored his first goal for Germany since 2012 but it was not enough to prevent what turned out to be a surprise loss.

Ozil told Fanatik: “We always produces the goods at the highest level I have never seen a player who is as cool under pressure as him.”

Gomez is expected to keep his place in the Germany side going into the European Championships in France this summer.

The powerful striker has been in great form for Besiktas scoring the highest number of goals in the league – 21.

Gomez missed the 2014 World Cup but was part of the Germany side that finished 3rd in the 2010 World Cup and runner up in the 2008 European Championships.

The Germany international star is expected to start for league leaders Besiktas in the mini Istanbul derby against Kasimpasa on Monday at the Fatih Terim stadium.
