Arsenal star Mesut Ozil wants to ' play for the biggest teams in the world'

Mesut Ozil Arsenal v Everton - Premier League Arsenal 3-4-1-2

Mesut Ozil has stated that he wants to play for the biggest teams in the world and challenge for titles.

The 27-year-old went on say that he can achieve his goals at Arsenal but that the club needs to strengthen.

“I always want to play for the biggest teams in the world, and in the competitions like the Champions League and it is my goal to win many titles,” Mesut Ozil told BT Sport ahead of Arsenal’s clash with West Ham United.

“And I know that I can win titles with this team but to achieve that we need a big squad, if players get injured, it’s just like that.

Ozil still has another two years remaining on his current contract but the Gunners are currently locked in talks over renewing his deal.

The Germany international has however, been closely linked with a move to Barcelona following a report from Spanish sports newspaper AS that claimed club technical secretary, Roberto Fernandez is preparing an offer for Ozil.

Ozil has provided the highest number of assists in the league this season (19) and would have had more had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates.

The Gunners star has also created the most chances in the league (122) but Arsenal have the lowest goal record in the top four.
